What Causes The Tingling Stage Before A Cold Sore? – Cold Sore Treatment Tips And Tricks

It is “common knowledge” on various medical sites that before a cold sore strikes, there is a burning or tingling sensation in the skin where the cold sore will appear. What I want to know is why–what is the physiological cause of this tingling? What Causes The Tingling Stage Before A Cold Sore ? And how can you treat your cold sore so you don’t have to get it all the time?
Well if you are also wondering this same thing, or have a cold sore that is making life miserable for you, then here are some few answer to your question. In a word, it’s “neuritis”. That is what causes the Tingling Stage before a Cold Sore . Remember that the herpes virus lives in the spinal cord nerves, and when it’s reactivated, it travels down the nerve to the skin. It is during this travel time that the nerve is irritated by having the virus travel within it (a neuritis, or inflamed nerve), and you sense that irritation with the tingling or pain or itch (however your brain interprets the irritation).
As you might already know, Cold sores are actually a form of herpes simplex. It is caused by a virus, and yes, can be caused by a cold (indirectly). The mouth herpes has nothing to do with the genital herpes, unless you have had oral sex with a cold sore. Then it IS possible to transmit the disease from the oral kind to the genital kind. actually everyone has herpes but when you get stressed, sick or whatever it may be it becomes active and that’s why you get cold sores, and abrevia works amazing I know it’s expensive but it works fast. I got my information from my doctor so trust it.
It’s not psychological it’s physical and it’s the herpes virus 1-2 starting to react. there’s not much you can do but let it run its course, keep it clean and use Carmax or Blistex to keep it from drying out and cracking. Also for treating cold sores, there is special chapstick that you can buy at walmart that helps cold sores heal faster…and something called abreeva? Anyways, the water shouldn’t hurt it, maybe cold sores are from having a cold or maybe you get them during cold weather.

Ok, so I have been getting cold sores my whole life but I have only had them spread onto my face once before. Even if you’ve never had sex or oral and you get a cold sore does that mean you have herpes? I’ve gotten one before but it was the only one I’ve ever gotten. Cold Sores, also known as Fever Blisters, are caused by the Herpes Simplex Virus, which is the same virus responsible for genital herpes. Having a cold sore does not mean you will have genital herpes.
