Cold Sore Treatment

I keep reading that people usually get cold sores about 2 or 3 times a year but i’ve had about 4 or 5 in span of 5 months! Is this normal? Sometimes i’ll still be recovering from one or one will have just gone away and then i get another one!!! its so annoying! and i just got one 2 days ago but its not like an open sore or anything its like a big ball of puss just waiting to popped! i have a dentist appiontment in a few hours and i don’t wanna go out in public with a big greenish ball on lip! My cold sores have also left scars around my lips so my lips are now all screwed up. can anybody please help me???
